Forces at Work Talon - Talon is a beast, a Nova gone completely feral, she believe humans are a plague to earth and must be destroyed or converted to the purity of feralism, and she has the power to do it. Thankfully she spend most of her time with her followers in self exile in deep space. Cirrus - A race of pure psionic energy, like the Doyan they are pure Psi but unlike the Doyan they are scientists. Coalition - The Coalition is a collection of aliens who rape people and absorb being to bolster their own power their goal seems to consume Earth for their own ends. Doyen - Transcription of an explanation by Mira Harding, Cirrus Host What can you say about a group that calls themselves "the best or the leaders"? The "Doyen" if so they have christened themselves are secretive, cowardly users of others. They are also almost pure subquantum energy, though unlike us they do have a small amount of material form. Cowardly certainly sums them up, if they feel anything poses a risk they try to destroy usually through pawns. When they had a material form they nearly destroyed their planet's ecosystem wiping out predators, pathogens and toxic plants because they wanted a totally safe world. They only risked the transformation to noetic form because they believed it would make them invulnerable. They discovered the dangers of the Quantum forces the hard way when their sun flared up. They actually then tried to put it out, sent it nova - no pun intended - and destroyed their homeworld. We could have done it after all we reinfused our own star when it was about to enter the red giant stage. They've tried to use pawns to destroy us because being like them they perceived a threat and they do so have to be the best and we were older than they at the very least. Why are they here? Probably to turn the metas against the novas. They truly feel the universe should be totally safe and the hate and fear Quantum. I must say we do not like the Doyen. Doyan/Cirrus Hosts - For all intents and purposes Psi pool becomes bottomless (assume they always have Psi available as for proxies). The alien is always dominant unless they choose to step back all the hosts modes lift to five regardless of normal level while the alien is in control and and any modes the alien has but the host has not are at aliens level (usually 5). The Orbus Orbus - Beings of Pure Quantum Energy, Strong and Weak Nuclear Forces, Electromagnetism, Gravity, they are effected severely by Psi powers, similarly to how Doyen/Cirrus are effected by Quantum Powers. Their unimaginable power however also negatively effects reality in their local area and as such they need hosts to minimize the damage. Only Second form novas (or first form novas with resistance to the four fundamental forces) can survive being a Orbus host. But being second form alone isn't enough they must also have superior control over Quantum (Quantum 6 or higher, minimum) or be burned by the intense quantum energies of the Orbus. At first one might argue this proves quantum wielding beings are a threat to existence, but there's a hook. The Orbus have existed a long time in their forms, in fact, in their natural form they live in space inside stellar bodies, nebula, etc., a single Orbus is equivalent to a Star or Sun. The difference her is that unlike stellar bodies the Orbus are sentient. The Doyan Sun was Orbus...They are not exactly be Doyen lovers, similarly the Cirrus sun was too, which the Cirrus extended its life by several billion years. All stars are potential Orbus. Those who erupt into sentience eventually create intelligent life in their system, in other words any self aware species is due to the Orbus Eruption...Which means Sol is an Orbus! Now you may wonder how a quantum race produces Psi races, well as stated before the Orbus are living stars. Stars are normally Quatum. And the distortion is minimal as long as the Orbus isn't very active, just normal cosmic radiation, but when they move the Quantum output is dramatically increased. In short a inactive Orbus is comparable to a Nova in Dormancy. Hosts - The Orbus and the Host share the body but if the Orbus wanted they can at any time override the host and take total control. This is the only way to get a Third Form nova, when 2 hosted Orbus Mate. Once in a suitable host a Orbus' provides a number of changes. The hosts Quantum Power Pool is drained and take Effect immediately as the body is transformed and the Orbus-Nova, here to for Nebula, merge. The host Gains 2 points of Quantum (even if this exceeds 10) and any associated Taint, and their Quantum pool is Multiplied by their previous Quantum Trait. The host gains +5 dots of Psychic Shield, Sensory Shield, and Quantum Shield. The last provides +2 soak per dot vs. any quantum manipulation powers like Disimmunize, Disrupt, but not powers like Quantum Imprint, only powers that directly effect their quantum signature not powers that copy it or attune to it like Quantum Forgery or Quantum Imprint. The host also gains, No Cost Impervious Force Field 3, No Cost Disintegrate 4 (With Burning, Homing, Armor Piercing, and Area able to be toggled on or off for 1 QP per Extra) , No Cost Underwater Flight 2, No Cost Aggravated Immolate 2 (Energy, With toggle Area, Burning, and Armor Piercing Extras), Adaptability, and No Cost Quantum Conversion 1 (Electricity). The Nebula may then take 2 dots worth of a Quantum Manipulation Power (Disimmunize, Node Spark, Disrupt, Quantum Imprint, Quantum Regeneration, Quantum Forgery). Finally, the Nebula gain the following Aberrations, regardless of taint level, these aberrations represent the massive quantum power coursing through them and the leak they still produce -- Aberrant Eyes (White and Glowing), Glow, Unearthly Beauty, Energy Emission (Energy), Uncontrolled Disintegrate (Extreme Emotions can cause Disintegrate to go off), Take double damage and double difficulty from Psi Effects. Nebula Social Penalties apply to Novas and Baselines, With +2 Quantum a max Quantum of 12 is possible, each Orbus bring a unique trait to the Nebula who reaches this level, the boon usually resembles the nova's Theme. The Power pool gained from the imbuing of a Orbus is 40 Nova Points regardless of what you pool is naturally. Taint gained by the Nebula and the ensuing aberrations can be tough when they start with 3 low, 1 medium, and 2 high, so nebula aberrations can count as taint aberrations. Should a Orbus leave the host for any reason, the host looses the extra Quantum (but not the Quantum Points), the shields, the powers, but not the aberrations except for the Psi Vulnerability and Disintergrate. Capable Hosts Omega, Cheetah, Counter, Gaia, Shade, Synch, Warren of Gaia/Wasteland, Predator, Morpheus, Tamazin. |
