Variant Settings in Aeoniverse

Information: During the War and after Spatial manipulators had caused a variety of distortions, these distortions created relatively huge areas compressed into a relatively small area. These Bubble Zones and the people within are cut of the the outside world. outsiders can see or enters these bubbles but certain power can detect them, its take Spatial Manipulation, Warp, Teleport, or similar power to enter or leave these zones. Time may or may not move differently inside the zone, it's possible a nova could warp in and then out in the blink of an eye where their body is still entering when it starts to leave. In reality they may have spent years inside the area and emerged outside where relatively no time has passed.

Valance - A Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider style pocket zone where powers tend to be low key and "magic" items can make a man into a god.

Nirvana Island - The main location of the game, Nirvana is detailed elsewhere, and doesn't need to be expanded here.

Atlantis - Mainly just a undersea research colony through ruins have been discovered.

Dracona - Home of the Wyrvern, it takes a page out of D&D, resembling a mystic age community, a corrupted strain of nova DNA is beginning to introduce humans resembling the Mythic Elves, Dwarves, and other staples of that Genre.

Primeval Forest - Home of Talon and her group, well the ones that got stuck on earth anyway instead of seeking a world to call their own. The Quantum mutations here have created a race of creatures similar to the WoD changing breeds though the culture is more akin to a Red Talon Ideal, and the "Wyld" is obscenely powerful here.

Gothos - A decaying society on the brink of destruction, the aberrants here are so twisted that sunlight burns them worse then a albino, and they can only regain their quantum by devouring the very souls of the baselines trapped here, by subsuming the quantum laced soul of another nova they can increase their power, and as they age they become even more inhuman then...the Harvesters.

Star Systems

Alpha Centuri B -- 1 possible, atmosphere breathable (barely) will need terreforming (known in canon Trinity as Kantze Le Ge).

Procyon -- 1 possible, heavily glaciated. Dubious but maybe terreformable (1 mention in SF, colony ship launched during Abberant War, as of 2121 hadn't arrived).

Epsilon Eirdani -- Young system, young planet, atmosphere unbreathable but eminently terreformable.

Epsilon Indi -- Eminently habitable, water world, mostly ocean some land, approx estimate 9% (canon but only a paragraph in SF).

Tau Ceti -- 1 habitable if somewhat dry planet, oceans roughly 60% of surface.

Delta Pavonis -- 2 possibilities both would need mild terreforming.

Ophiuchi (letter unknown) -- No useful planets but definate mining possibilities in a very rich asteroid belt.

Buildings

Metahuman Recreation Centers- In the guise of a resort for wary Novas and Metas, these facility have a open door program. Admission is free for any Nova or Meta, the facilities are kept in business through the media exposure "Why yes Darkhaven is a regular" and philanthropic donations. Or so they publicly claim, in truth the facilities are maintained by the government, their purpose is simple, to keep the Nova and Meta population up, the Coalition War is fierce and lets face it, Novas and Metas are your only hope. The Facility resembles a five star resort, and even supports a way for Novas and Metas who don't want to be in the Camera's Eye a retreat at little to no cost. Additionally, the facility's food is laced with aphrodisiacs and fertility drugs, using data from the Proteus sterility virus these drugs don't harm Metas or Baselines yet are still able to effect Novas. The end result is a increase in Meta and Nova sex drives and higher fertility rates. Psi/Quantum disruption naturally makes it hard for Novas and Metas to breed together so they tend to stick to their own group type. Normally pairing of parents is left to fate but sometimes the higher ups want a specific pairing, such as a warper/space manipulator and a energy manipulator, so a specific child may develop certain favored power sets. Due to the high pregnancy turnover of the (widespread, and seemingly non connected) facilities they have been dubbed Breeding Camps by the Vulgar Argot.

Nursery Care - With such high birth rates Child Care had to adapt. Top of the line government funded nurseries are available to Novas, Metas, and Baselines. While officially their is no favoritism, Novas and Metas in practice tend to get better care. Though the differences between the two are negligible at best. Ironically, schools have taken a dramatic tern with health classes concentrating less on preventing child pregnancies, and some even encourage it. Actual child care is centuries ahead of the curve and infant fatality even the worse case scenario is low. With the population boom, plans are under way to create more land, and a ambition project is being worked on to turn space colonies and man made planets into habitable locations, course the War isn't helping any.

Utopia Facility - Utopia Facilities are state of the art, typically housing a local T2M/T2N/Earth Defense training facility. Gyms for the refinement of Nova and Meta powers are reinforced to withstand all but the most concentrated pinpoint attacks. The walls are also reinforced with special materials that prevent Psi/Quantum disruptions, good thing too as typically the Nova/Meta Gyms are adjacent to each other.

The Dungeon - Facility for the Incarceration of dangerous Metas and Nova, similar to Banharian in defenses with an anti-teleportation field and various devices to deactivate powers The Dungeon is the last resort for being who just wont play nice and are determined to take the world into Ragnoroke.

Isle of Dogs Nova Redevelopment Zone, London - The NRZ covers much of the Isle of Dogs located in East London by the Thames, near the upmarket Docklands business area. Since the council separated and rehoused most of the population following the race riots of the early 2000's the area has been left empty. With the rise of the Novas, Project Utopia brought up the land and formed a civil group called 'Novas For Novas' - N4N This organization, although primarily staffed by baselines, obviously, is dedicated to integrating Novas into the community at large by instigating nova exclusive schemes designed to help bring the two societies together. The NRD is the first of many schemes ad comprises a housing estate designed and built exclusively by and for novas. The project was funded by novas, including, it's rumored, Count Orzaiz himself.

New York Elite Dining Establishment 'Le Popular' - 'Le Popular' is a top quality, five star, resturant that only catters to the best. Their reputation for serving well known novas as well as baselines and satifying both classes appitites has earned them much praise. Prices are astronomical but portions are huge a filling. And their head cheff is a Nova himself. The Decor is colonial victorian, and live piano music is availible Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays from noon to eight PM. The rest of the time clasical piano is pumped in via speakers.

Rashoud Holding Cells - Beneath the venere of the first Rashoud facility a dim lit cell block lurks. Wall reinforced to resist most any attack a Nova can muster and far enough below ground to serve as a fallout shelter when/if needed. The rinforced walls are lined with lead to soak most radiation types and at the end of the hall a single office waits. Each cell is equipd with built in intercom and a bed for the inmates er visitors to use.

New York Rashoud Holding Cells Office - The small office is undecorated and the only firnature present is a small metal table and chairs and oposite sides of the table. A single flickering bulb illuminates the room and the apears to be a door on the back wall but where does it lead???

Rashoud Boarding Wing - In every Rashound facily is The boarding rooms, or dormitories, are aligned in a row across 6 floors. The first three floors house the smaller rooms which house 3-5 people per room. The next two floors house 6-8 people per room. and the top floor houses 8-12 people per room. The rooms ae co-educatational on paper but in pratice the men and women are more often then not separated from each other.

NOVA PARK, in lovly New York City - Most view this small park in the middle of New York City as just another attempt to capitalize on the nova phenomenon. A large concrete slab stand where once a statue of Randel Portman ("the Fireman") was, destroyed by one nova with a temper (Cherry Bomb) and unsuccfully defended by the combined efforts of Adam "Superion" Grey and the "Raging Monk" -- The statue was said to be in poor taste, as Portman is still alive, kinda moot now eh? Other busts of important baselines and novas (Mazarin, Rashoud, Landers, etc.) sit on concrete columns near a pavilion. A playground nearby contains a concrete mock-up of the school bus that Portman rescued the school children from, complete with a slide. Picnic tables, grills, and public bathrooms are also accessible to all. Restaurants are also located suspiciously close to the park. Rumor even suggests that Novas actually meet here sometimes, though that rumor was probably started in order to promote the park area.

Nova Park: The PAVILION - There's a hommy feel to the small pavilion. Victorian benches line the interiors rim, its circular design has a collection of vines waving through the grating and small potted flowers hanging over the sides. The pavilion is a quiet place for meditation, rest, or reflection; and when the night is filled with stars the view from the pavilion is as romantic as it is tranquil.

Nova Park: FIREMAN PLAYPARK - A large yellow bus, padded for the safety of children, stands as a monument to the heroism of the Fireman. It has two slides, one on each side. A large sand box, swings, seesaws, monkey bars, and other equipment were donated by local businesses.

Nova Park: PICNIC GROUNDS - Situated in a grass-filled field a collection of wood tables and wood burning grills have been placed for the visitors to use for cookouts and family picnics. The tables have fold down umbrellas for when it rain or the sun is relentlessly beating down; and the field is dotted with cherry blossom trees providing shade. Wild critters scamper about when no one is around to frighten them, and theirs a lake a stones throw away. Theirs no lifeguard so swim at your own risk.

Nova Park: NOVARAMA - This classic 1950's soda shop's primary colors are red and white. Red booths and tables allow for a more private area to discuss things. Ties and hats complete the uniform for the average worker, very reminiscient of that era. One whole wall is devoted to small refrigerated/heated boxes, where one gets their food cafeteria style, except for special orders. Inevitably given two stars when reviewed.

AMP ROOM, in lovly Iliza, Spain - Travius Diaz's nova-only club in lovely Ibiza, Spain offers club-going novas special nova-only drinks and a private atmosphere to reminisce, far from the prying eyes of mere mortals. With the promise of up to 300 nova patrons per night, the thrills are guaranteed to come fast and furious in the warm coastal air.

Serinity Lake, located in one non descript forest - Serinity Lake, it's perfect, litterly, the water crystal clear, the weather always calm and warm even in winter. Tons of fish swim in the lake and a aura of calm prevade every centiter of the land. This is to perfect to be natural, somone must have crafted it, but who?

Fractions

Aberrants - After stopping Proteus they either disbanded, rejoined Utopia or joined the Teragen.

Project Utopia - Utopia is running the other half of the united earth council... they are part of the Unity Party. Other than that it's business as usual, I suppose, except now they have competition - the Assembly didn't want to leave all the novas to Utopia so the the Directive is now running a show similar to Utopia. Officially they are cooperating, just covering different parts of Earth.

Teragen - Mal chose wisely not to start a "Night of Long Knives" and instead kept trying to straighten out the Teragen. Now in his Fifth Chrysalis to which he won't emerge until about 2050 the Teragen fractions have split. Each one claiming to be the "True Teragen" but to the public they are all the same. The Teragen ranks swelled when they were able to prove that Second Gen. novas aren't human, of course the public doesn't know this.
Starting Resources: If a Second Stage Chrysalis; +20 Nova Points, base 3 taint, Influence 2 (Teragen), 2 low and 2 medium level aberrations, +2 difficulty to social interactions with Baselines.

Baseline Rights Movement - Funded by the "Purity Party" a catch all term for Governments who, openly or in secret, despise Novas and Meta's as Freeks and Mutants the BRM spreads fear and loathing about novas and seeks a way they can either relegate them to pawns for the war, breeding slaves for that war and pretty much second class citizens, or worse destroy them all. Some of their methods are blatant attacks while other are more....insidious.

Metahuman Intervention Strike Force - Diverging from the BRM the MHISF doesn't not hate novas/metas as much as belive that humanity doesn't need superhumans to protect it.

Students of Gaia - Cheetah children, she teaches a balance between the human extreme of Shade, and the animal extreme of Talon. Her ultimate goal is for every nova, meta, and human to unlock their animal side and achive a balance between the two. If she gets her way the future will be ver ydiferent as humanity come to terms with their natural instincts and animal afinity. In her future human society will be fluid, technology organic, and pack dynamics will decide politics.

Claws of Talon - Extreme to the Extreme the CoT is bent on destroying humanity and returning the world to the purity of the animal kingdom. They are completely bent on human destruction and the rise of Meta and Nova animals in a primitivistic society of hunting, gathering, and mating. Thankfully most of them are off with Talon on her new world.

Blood Purity - Shade's fraction, he believes animal novas are inbred, impure, and dirty begin that should be purged from the DNA pool, even ones not descended from Talon. Any nova with animal traits is target, but alas he is a child of Talon, and far evolved in the Cocoon path. It's eating him up inside, and he will purge the world of animal novas, including himself and his own sister if he has his way.
