Quantum Battery - This device resembling a bracer at lower levels, a back pack at medium levels, and a full body suit at high levels can store a number of quantum points that the nova can tap into like Eufiber. But is more efficient because it is GeneTech which means it has a Format Tolerance, +5 Quantum storage when formatted.

Teflon Fiber - This is the absolute rage in new textiles competing with Eufiber, while not able to store quantum or shapeshift it does have its own benefits. it comes in two types, the first is resistant to any staining and immune to acid, radiation, and ripping and tearing. This can be purchased with Resources of 2. The second version require Resources 3, does everything the previous does and adds one point of armor.

Teflon Eufiber - Advanced version of Teflon Fiber, not actually made of Eufiber, perse, but a reasonable synthetic, like Flexi-Plast any thing that penetrates the cloth instantly seals, making damaging it virtually impossible, Resources 4 for the basic model, resources 5 adds 1 point of armor.

Combat Vacuum Suit - This full body exosuit is the standard combat armor of the space forces of Earth. Usable by Metas, Novas, And Baselines because it's Hardtech and a invaluable asset to the forces of Earth in the Coalition wars. The user in a CVS look like a formidable opponent indeed as seven foot tall metal giant. The CVS grants 4 dice of armor but has a penalty of 3. The suit has built in accouters which boost the user strength by 2 (Mundane only, ever if this brings it beyond 5). It can survive the rigors of space for a long time but ever time the armor is penetrated roll 7d10 if you fail the accouters granting strength fail. This suit has a suite of sensors from IR., UV, and so forth to zoom functions. these scanners use the above 7d10 as their dice pool.

Power Booster - This device adds a specific extra to one nova power per device and must be formatted to work. The booster itself is generic but once formatted its attuned to a specific power and can only work on that power. There are 3 levels of Boosters due to the variability of extras. More powerful extras need more fuel and conversely cost more and have a higher FT.

Structural Fortification - Stronger, faster, smarter, we all know the stitch but sometimes you just want to be tougher. Some really big equipment needs the body to be fortified and this is the enhancement in question, but their are other perks, namely +1 "Bruised" health level, resources 3 minimum.

Nail Gun - This device (resources 4) replaces one hand with a bionic hand (Strength +1 for punching and griping). The fingers house a gun able to fire high-velocity magnetic needles.

Robocop Vision - This devices replaces a eye with a cybernetic sensor that duplicates the normal eye functions and acts as a targeting system. For each dot in Devices applied to this toy the user may add 1 die to Accuracy. In cases where accuracy doesn't factor in such as hand eye coordination games the devices reduces difficulty penalties (to the minimum standard, at which point it add dice to roll not Auto-Successes, dice.)

Flexi-Plast - A clear sturdy substance like plastic that can be made in several hues. This amazing material when pressed upon bends and flexes up to 6 inches outward. further pressure with puncher the material but it instantaneously seals around the penetrating object in a airtight seal. If the object is pressed all the way through the wound seal the moment it looses contact. While this wont stop a bullet or other projectile and this is useless as armor its deep sea and space applications are astounding. Unfortunately Lasers cauterize the "wound" and prevent regeneration so combat application are still out even as a emergency hull. Cost varries by side of a panel being used.

Superior Strength/Muscle replacement

This also works for proto-Aberrants and exceptional humans (Doc Savage). The other Superior attributes work like Mega Abilities; 7-9 is one success, and a ten is two successes. Superior attributes don't have enhancements but the higher levels have certain advantages. Superior Dexterity 3 gives a +1 to Initiative (progressive up to +3) and level 5 gives an extra attack like quickness (except that you don't have to pay quantum to activate it). Superior Stamina 3 gives a +1 to offset wound penalties (progressive up to +3) and an additional Health level at level 5. Superior Wits would work like Superior Dexterity except for level 5 which would give an additional +3 to Initiative instead of an extra action.

Computers - Organic silicon neural networks in a shell about the size of a belt buckle the modern computer can store 50 Quans of data, (a Quan can store several hundred times the Library of Congress worth of data). Computers come with a inset microphone, disk reader, and camera. It has 7 SIO ports (Standard Input/Output ports, note that standard as of 2030, its more like Fire wire/USB but more advanced) a built in holo-projector and a factory standard Systems Manager (Trinity equivalent of a Agent). Lastly there is room for up to 10 additional Hardware devices. Monitors usually take the form of sunglasses with autotinting.

They come in 2 formats the first is essentially a belt buckle with visible jacks, the other resembles a arm guard wit ha circular hill about the size of a palm. The second is considered a Server. Of course the real servers take up entire rooms but their power is astronomical. System Managers take a number of block equal to half their Performance Rating. Most computer have a fail safe program, its like Anti virus, anti hacker software.

Black Tech

P-83 Arm Cannon - One of the most deadly weapons of the Twenty-First Century, the P-83 replaces one arm (Users preference, off hand penalties do apply) with a energy cannon capable of liquefying steel with a super charged energy bolt. The device however requires the wielder to undergo a separate enhancement to fortify their body to be able to support the gun on their shoulder blade (See Structural Fortification).

Equalizer Armor - Its purpose was to allow ordinary baselines to match up to novas. It carries a computer linked weapons system consisting of two autocannons and one missile launcher that is rumored to very accurate and very deadly. The sensors can detect quantum energies up to a 500 ft. radius. What really stands out is the suit's ability to drain novas of their quantum power. It uses the stolen quantum to charge up a disruption system that helps to nullify nova powers and abilities. Resources 8 (Restricted)

Special Equipment: Computer Linked Weapons and Targeting System adds +4 to accuracy while firing autocannons or missile launcher Quantum Energy Sensors can detect strong amounts of quantum energy within a 500 ft. radius. Specific details are unknown but user can determine presence of novas. Drains novas of their quantum points at a rate of 2 per turn. The suit must be touching the nova for this to work. For every 3 quantum points the suit drains, the nova loses one dot in a mega-attribute or power for Quantum +2 rounds. (Storyteller's discretion)

Other Notes: Provides equivalent of Mega-Strength 1. Novas who use this armor lose quantum points at a rate of 5 for every minute spent in the suit. If quantum pool reduced to zero, nova begins taking one bashing level of damage a round. (no soak against such damage)

Psi Grenade (Anti-Quantum Grenade) - This insidious weapon can neutralize a nova in one shot, upon detonation the grenade emits a pulse (role int+science diff 8 to properly activate the grenade) that neutralizes a novas powers. Each succ lowers Quantum Trait by 1, if the trait falls below a powers quantum minimum the power (or Mega) becomes unusable, if Quantum is reduced to 0 the nova is forced into Dormancy. If the nova does not have dormancy they pass out. Quantum returns at the rate of 1 every hour, or 1 every 2 hours if the nova is forced unconscious, 1 every 4 hours if the nova is forced into Dormancy. The nova can not leave dormancy till they are back to full power. Resources 4 (Restricted).

I must admit to being perplexed by the specimen you brought me this week. It's basic physiology does conform to that of an African Locust however gene testing indicates it belongs to the family of Gryllidae of Crickets. If I had to hazard a guess I'd say that it was created from the genes of the European House Cricket. At least I believe it is an engineered specimen, nothing in my preparation has ever led me to believe that such a thing would be naturally possible. But then again the same could be said for Novas. Part of its DNA could be taken from a nova genome but it is hard to say and any conclusion drawn from that assumption may be erroneous. Then again the fact that this incident occurred in Africa could be an indication that this is an engineered organism and that you were the unlucky recipient of its first field test.
The burnt out tumorous growth on its abdomen is the part I believe interests you. Since you claim that all the specimens had the same anomalous growth I think it's safe to say that whatever it contained is the source of this insect's strange power. The energy residuals are minuscule and as hard to interpret as any quantum residual. However, I have come up with a theory that is mostly based on the account you provided of the incident. So bear in mind that this has very little to do with my study of the specimen which was inconclusive.
I believe that this organ contains a small amount of quantum energy that when placed in contact with the quantum energy of an active nova produces a rapid decay of both energies. The process invariably proves fatal to the insect whose body acts as 'ground' for the quantum energies. I hesitate to label it 'negative quantum' because we know so little about quantum to begin with and while the analogy holds in this one instance the mechanics behind the process are much more complex and involve radioactive decay rather than electric charge. So while it may be easier to understand as a sort of negative quantum energy for the layman such as yourself I beg you not to go around describing it in those terms as the scientific community would crucify me.
From your account the first power to desert you was your Fire Breath, followed closely by your power Flight. However your superhuman Strength never left you even when you were swarmed by the insects and that was what allowed you to escape the baseline militia you were 'escorting' to the border. I believe that this is a fair indication that some powers are fueled by differing energies and that those powers that suffered were those fueled by radiating or decaying energies. I postulate that your flight is fueled by a combination of radiant and electromagnetic energies which allowed you to stay airborne for a while longer whereas you strength is purely electromagnetic in origin. Then again perhaps your strength comes from control over gravitational forces, there is still much we don't know. We would need more incidents of this nature to prove or disprove this. Something I don't think too many Novas would be anxious to provide. Based solely on your account there is not much that I can add to what you already know. However, and I emphasize that this is pure speculation, the fact that you first felt the rapid decay of your quantum energies when you attempted to burn the insects with your fire breath may indicate that they only need a conduit to your quantum matrix to be able to ground out those energies. While this is very exciting information for those of us who postulate the Superstring Theory it is bad news for those on the receiving end of this nasty plague. The fact that rapid decay of radioactive particles may be occurring over a conduit goes a long way to proving, or disapproving depending on how the data pans out, the existence of a unified field. It also means that these bugs can suck your quantum without even touching you. As long as the insects are in contact with some article attuned to you or in any way able to make contact with your quantum matrix (such as when you extend your quantum matrix to produce fire in the area in front of your face) then the rapid decay can begin.
This makes these bugs very dangerous but since those quantum energies that don't depend on particle decay are safe from them then you should be safe as long as you're carefull. One way to protect yourself would be to wear heavy clothing such as a biohazard containment suit which is not attuned to your quantum signature. Other than that all I can recommend is that you stay away from the critters and don't try to torch them.

System: The Nimue Locust drains one point of Quantum from the Novas Quantum Pool and then it dies. As each insect that touches the nova drains a point of Quantum and then dies, swarms of hundreds of these insects could easily reduce the Quantum Pools of large groups of Novas to nothing. The real danger is that the insects don't actually have to touch the nova to drain the Quantum. It only has to be within the effects of his Quantum Aura which means that anything the nova attunes can act as conduit. Also anything under the effect of one of the nova's quantum powers can also act as a conduit for the drain. Direct effects such as Quantum Bolt, Force Field and Telekinesis provide a direct conduit which will drain as much Quantum as there are Locust affected by the power. Indirect effects such as Shockwave, Thunderclap Animal/Plant Mastery and Luck don't provide a conduit unless the expression of the individual's power would indicate otherwise. The Nimue Locust is indeed an engineered organism coutesy of Dr. Michael Redford, A.K.A. Dr. Destruction. The original idea was to base it on a locust species to use its swarming instinct for devastating effect. Dr. Destruction shot down that idea as a radioactive plague insect could just as easily decimate crops and human populations as it could inconvinience Novas in battle zones. Instead he chose a European species of Cricket notable for its docility. The insects are semi social but don't swarm unless released in tight concentrations where they tend to scatter quickly to die shortly after from the cancerous growth on their abdomen which houses the radioactive particles. They are all sterile and have no protection from the radiation produced by their own systems. Which leads to a very short life span which is measured in days mostly because they are insects and can survive with reduced capacities in all their major organs.

Alpha Series "Gyre" Cyber-Armor - Nicknamed the "Gyre Rangers" only the elitest men and women ever get their hands on the ultimate battle armor.

Armor: Provides 20B Soak, 10L Soak, 5A Soak.
Weapons: Forhead Lazer - [6] + 4D10 L, Chest Cannon [10] + 30D10 L but the user takes 1 unsoakable bashing health level that he has to heal normally not with the suits repair mechinisms, foot long spears can extend from the elbows they do Str + 5 Lethal, armor peircing damage.
Special Equipment: Computer Linked Weapons and Targeting System adds +4 to accuracy while firing autocannons, additionally the powers of Metas and Novas are dampened while in the suit, their divergence from the baseline is unpredictible and so sould a Meta or Nova use the armor Powers, Quantum/Psi pool and so forth are halved (Rounded down, minimum 1). Additionally novas need atunment 5 or risk damaging the armor from the inside. Rumors exist that there exists some armors that have been calibrated to actually work with a Nova or Meta thus circumventing the restriction above.

Other Notes: The Gyre armor has the equiviment of the following quantum powers; Mege-Stamina 5, all enhancement for the armors self repair and adaptability data, Mega-Dexterity 3 with Physical Prodigy and Enhanced Movement, Mega-Strength 1 with Quantum Leap, Mega-Wits 2 with Enhanced Initiative x3, Quickness x3, and Multitasking. The suit is also asumed to have sensors with the equivilent of Intuition/Ultraperprehensial Perception from Mega-Perception. The armor is equivilent to the Impervious Armor Power. The armor bounds with the user and can be "summoned" at will witha command word. Created from advanced nanotechnology it's housign unit is a small matalic box with a sphere in the center that houses the nanites. Once activated the device is absorbed into the user's body.
